Capiz’s No. 2 fugitive falls

CAPIZ – This province’s second most wanted person was collared in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Dumarao town, at around 2:25 p.m. on February 3.

The 33-year-old farmer known by the alias “Necanor,” married, and a resident of Dumarao, was caught by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of statutory rape (two counts) and lascivious conduct under Article 366 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5(B) of Republic Act (RA) 7610, as amended by RA 11648, issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 14 in Roxas City.

The successful operation was carried out by joint operatives of the Dumarao Municipal Police Station (MPS), the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit and Intelligence Team, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6.

The suspect was detained at Dumarao MPS pending turnover to the court concerned.

The court recommended no bail for the two counts of statutory rape and set bail at P180,000 for the charge of lascivious conduct.

Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), lauded the aforementioned units for a job well done.

“The arrest reflects the unwavering commitment of our police force to uphold the rule of law and ensure public safety. It is the result of sustained intelligence work, close coordination, and the dedication of our personnel on the ground,” said Ligan.

He added: “We assure the public that the PRO-6 remains steadfast in pursuing wanted individuals and will continue to intensify operations to bring criminals to justice and maintain peace and order in our communities./PN
