ILOILO City — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to centralize election-related services in Western Visayas with the inauguration of the new Comelec Integrated Field Office 6 on February 20 at the Iloilo City Government Complex in Barangay Taal, Molo district.
The four-storey facility will house three major Comelec units under one roof — the regional office, the Iloilo Provincial Election Office, and the Iloilo City Election Office — aiming to streamline operations and improve public access to election services ahead of future electoral activities.
The Comelec Region 6 office has already transferred to the building and began occupying the third floor on February 6. The Iloilo Provincial Election Office is scheduled to move into the second floor today, February 12, while the Iloilo City Election Office will take over the ground floor on February 14.
“Effective February 6, 2026, the Comelec office of the Regional Election Director 6 officially moved to its new office located at the third floor of the Comelec Integrated Field Office,” Comelec Region 6 announced.
The fourth floor will serve as a multi-purpose area and will include a small dormitory for Comelec personnel, particularly those deployed for election-related duties.
Comelec Region 6 director Atty. Dennis Ausan said the consolidation of offices is expected to significantly cut processing time and make transactions more convenient for the public.
He noted that with the three offices now operating in one location, the new facility will function as a “one-stop shop” for clients seeking election services, from voter-related concerns to administrative transactions.
Prior to the transfer, both the Iloilo Provincial and Iloilo City election offices were renting space at the Angeles Arcade Building along Mabini Street in Barangay Osmeña, Iloilo City./PN
