ILOILO City — A delivery truck loaded with crates of soft drinks figured in a road accident along C1 Road in Barangay Tacas, Jaro district yesterday morning, causing a temporary disruption in the area.
In an interview with Panay News, the driver known by the alias “Rico” of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo said he and his two helpers were traveling from Barangay Ingore, La Paz district, and was en route to the municipality of Pavia to deliver the soft drinks when the accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Police said the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to suddenly topple onto its side while navigating the stretch of C1 Road. Broken bottles were scattered across the pavement.
Rico and his helpers sustained minor scratches on various parts of their bodies, police added.
Meanwhile, the driver, his helpers, and several residents manually transferred the intact cases of soft drinks to another truck./PN
