ILOILO — Around P408,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from a traffic aide during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Camalig, Jaro district, at around 11 a.m. yesterday, March 16.
Police said the suspect, identified as alias “Ron,” is reportedly the district leader of the True Brown Style (TBS) Gang.
According to Police Captain Roque Gimeno III, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo City Police Office, they seized from the suspect a total of five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 60 grams.
The suspect is currently in police custody. He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, Uldarico Garbanzos, head of the Traffic and Transportation Management Office, confirmed in a radio interview that the suspect is an active traffic aide in the city.
Garbanzos noted that he had previously received intelligence reports regarding the suspect’s involvement with the aforementioned gang./PN
