Barotac Nuevo clinches Hinampang Sa Semana football title

ILOILO — Barotac Nuevo stamped its class as Iloilo’s football powerhouse, blanking Sta. Barbara, 2–0, to capture the Hinampang sa Semana sang Iloilo 2026 men’s football championship.

The 25-Up squad from Barotac Nuevo seized control early and never relented, dictating the tempo on both ends while shutting down Sta. Barbara’s attacking threats to complete a dominant title run.

Jed Delariarte delivered the breakthrough in the first half to put Barotac Nuevo ahead. The advantage was doubled after the break when a costly own goal from a Sta. Barbara defender sealed Barotac Nuevo’s victory.

The win underscored Barotac Nuevo’s deep football tradition, with the team displaying cohesion, discipline, and composure throughout the tournament.

Representing the 4th District, Barotac Nuevo finished as champions, while Sta. Barbara of the 2nd District settled for runner-up honors.

The 3rd District squad composed of Cabatuan, Calinog, and Janiuay secured third place, while the 5th District team made up of San Dionisio, Estancia, Concepcion, and Ajuy finished fourth.

The championship roster for Barotac Nuevo included Ronnie Jr. Panes, Arlo Salvacion, Harold Bayona, LJ Jayaon, Jefferson Descarial, Martin Dila, John Brian Baylon, Jericho Albiño, Lyasel Siaotong, and EJ Acervida.

Also part of the squad are Pat Buensoceso, Ronie Besona, Nathaniel Aboblo, Lauren Bedua, Angelo Lirazan, Jarlson Derutas, Jogi Celiz, GP Seloterio, and Vincent Balerosa.
