CAPIZ — Four graduates of Capiz State University (CAPSU) placed among the top examinees in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), further boosting the university’s reputation for excellence in teacher education.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on May 12 that 63,377 out of 94,357 examinees passed the March 2026 LEPT, resulting in a national passing rate of 67.17 percent — the highest recorded in recent years.
Leading CapSU’s topnotchers was Lovelin Deslate Devera, a Bachelor of Elementary Education graduate from the Pontevedra Campus, who ranked fifth in the elementary level with a rating of 93.80 percent.
Also from the Pontevedra Campus, Kenneth Baticados Rone, a magna cum laude graduate of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science, placed seventh in the secondary level with a rating of 93.80 percent.
Maureen Dollete Tumanday, another Bachelor of Elementary Education graduate from the same campus, secured eighth place in the elementary level with a score of 93.20 percent.
Completing the roster of topnotchers was Joane Miles Aurelio Veedor, a magna cum laude graduate of the Bachelor of Physical Education from the Main Campus, who ranked eighth in the secondary level with a rating of 93.60 percent.
CAPSU produced a total of 578 new licensed professional teachers in the March 2026 LEPT.
In the elementary level, 118 out of 208 examinees passed, posting an institutional passing rate of 56.73 percent. Of the 144 first-time takers, 102 passed, equivalent to a 70.83 percent passing rate.
In the secondary level, 460 out of 555 examinees passed, translating to an 82.88 percent passing rate. Among 489 first-time takers, 432 passed, for an 88.34 percent success rate.
Overall, CAPSU achieved a 75.75 percent institutional passing rate, surpassing the national passing rate of 67.17 percent.
