ILOILO City — New Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño has vowed a sustained operation against crimes across Western Visayas, placing wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal drugs at the center of his command priorities.
Amid continuing peace-and-order concerns in the region, Tuaño will formally be installed today in a change of command ceremony at Camp Martin Delgado.
He said he would strengthen ongoing campaigns initiated by his predecessor, Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, while pushing operating units to further intensify law enforcement operations.
Following the announcement of his new assignment Friday last week, May 22, the PRO-6 arrested two wanted persons, among them a regional-level most wanted person from PRO-4A who had allegedly been hiding from authorities for 31 years.
The PRO-6 also reported the surrender of eight firearms and two explosives over the weekend, May 23 and 24.
PRO-6 also carried out two anti-drug buy-bust operations that led to the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of around 16 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P108,800.
Tuaño acknowledged the efforts of police operating units and stressed the need for stronger cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the public in sustaining peace and order in Western Visayas.
“Our sustained operations against wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal drugs reflect PRO6’s commitment to protect the people of Western Visayas from all forms of criminality. We will continue to intensify our law enforcement efforts and strengthen our partnership with the community to ensure a safer, more secure, and peaceful region,” Tuaño said./PN
