ILOILO City — An ordinary Friday and Saturday evening turned into a vibrant mix of fun, learning, and connection as Sun Life Philippines hosted its “Live Bright Trivia Night” in Iloilo City on April 24–25.
The event gathered young professionals and teams looking to unwind after work, offering a refreshing take on conversations about finances and “adulting” through an engaging trivia game night. More than just a game, the night was designed as a safe and relaxed space where participants could laugh, connect, and reflect on everyday life experiences—from the daily routine of one’s 9 to 5 job, to budgeting every payday, to navigating personal goals.
Making ‘adulting’ conversations lighter
Leading the event’s opening, Regional Sales Manager Marga Perral emphasized the importance of creating meaningful yet enjoyable spaces for people to learn and grow. “Tonight is about connection. It’s about stepping away from all the deadlines and to-do lists, and enjoying a space where learning feels light and laughter comes easily,” Perral said.
She added that the initiative reflects Sun Life’s broader message of empowering individuals to make confident life decisions without pressure. “At Sun Life, we believe that living bright doesn’t mean having everything figured out all at once. It means feeling more confident with the choices you make—today, tomorrow, and along the way,” she said.
Trivia, teamwork, and takeaways
Participants competed in multiple trivia rounds that tested knowledge, teamwork, and creativity, while also encouraging interaction among teams. Between rounds, the program incorporated relatable financial insights—making discussions about savings, expenses, and future planning more approachable and less intimidating. “Conversations on adulting and finances don’t always have to be serious. Sometimes, they begin with shared experiences—even trivia questions,” Perral noted.
Building connections beyond the workplace
The event also highlighted the importance of balance—reminding attendees that while planning for the future matters, enjoying the present is just as important. With a buffet spread, lively hosting, and an inclusive atmosphere, the trivia night became a space where participants could recharge and connect with peers.
By the end of the evening, teams left not only with prizes and bragging rights, but also with a renewed perspective on managing life’s challenges. “We hope this evening leaves you feeling a little lighter, a little brighter, and reminded that you don’t have to navigate life’s milestones on your own. Sun Life can be your partner in your journey to a brighter life,” Perral said.
The “Live Bright Trivia Night” stands as a testament to how learning, when paired with fun and community, can create lasting impact beyond the game.
