
CAPIZ — A student-athlete from the municipality of Dao brought pride to Capiz after winning two medals in the Palarong Pambansa 2026 Paragames held in Agusan del Sur.
Gemwel M. Edaño, a native of Barangay Duyoc and a student of Luis Escutin National High School, delivered an impressive performance in the Visual Impairment Boys (T11) category, clinching a gold medal in shot put and a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash.
Edaño’s achievement highlighted not only his athletic ability but also his determination and perseverance in overcoming challenges associated with visual impairment.
Through months of rigorous training and preparation, he showcased exceptional skill and resilience against some of the country’s best young para-athletes, earning a place on the winners’ podium.
