CAPIZ — The Roxas City Government has received an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Traffic Signalization System from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 as part of efforts to improve urban mobility and traffic management in the city.
The innovative technology is expected to help ease traffic congestion and improve the flow of vehicles along major roads and intersections in Roxas City.
The formal turnover ceremony was attended by LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II and Atty. Allan Sacramento, acting chief of the LTO Roxas City District Office, along with city government officials.
During the ceremony, LTO officials highlighted the system’s capability to monitor real-time traffic conditions and regulate vehicle movement at key intersections, particularly in areas prone to heavy congestion.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas expressed gratitude to the LTO for the project, emphasizing its importance in strengthening the city’s traffic management initiatives.
“Aton ginapasalamatan ini nga proyekto nga makabulig sa pag-manage sang traffic situation sa syudad. Sa masunod nga inadlaw magapatigayon kita sang demo sa AI Traffic Signalization para masigurado ang mas epektibo nga dalagan sang trapiko,” Dadivas said.
To prepare for its full implementation, the city government will conduct a series of demonstrations and evaluations in the coming days to test the system’s functionality and reliability.
Officials said the AI-powered system is expected to enhance traffic management and improve road safety for both motorists and pedestrians.
By leveraging artificial intelligence, the system can help optimize traffic flow, reduce travel delays, and provide a more efficient commuting experience for Roxasnons and visitors alike.
