MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio’s net worth climbed by more than P10 million in 2025, reaching P98.66 million, according to her latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN), as her financial disclosures continue to draw attention amid ongoing impeachment proceedings.
Documents released to the public showed Duterte-Carpio declared a net worth of P98.66 million in 2025, a significant increase from the P88.51 million she reported in 2024. The SALN was filed jointly with her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio.
The increase came despite a substantial rise in the couple’s liabilities and was largely driven by additional assets, including the acquisition of a condominium unit with a parking slot in San Juan City valued at P10 million.
The filing showed the couple’s total assets grew to P122.8 million in 2025 from P98.46 million the previous year.
Of the total assets declared, P81.31 million consisted of real properties, while P41.49 million were listed as personal properties.
The SALN also revealed that Duterte-Carpio again declared no cash on hand and no cash in bank, continuing a pattern reflected in previous filings.
Meanwhile, the couple’s liabilities surged to P24.14 million in 2025 from P9.95 million a year earlier.
Unlike in 2024, when only Manases Carpio declared liabilities, Duterte-Carpio herself reported loans from the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) and various creditors totaling more than P11 million.
Duterte-Carpio’s SALN has become one of the issues cited in impeachment complaints lodged against her, particularly allegations involving unlawfully acquired wealth and claims that she failed to fully and truthfully disclose assets in her declarations.
Batangas 2nd District Representative Gerville Luistro previously argued that failure to accurately declare assets and liabilities in a SALN could constitute betrayal of public trust, one of the impeachable offenses under the Constitution.
The latest disclosure comes as impeachment proceedings against Duterte-Carpio continue to advance, with her finances, liabilities, and property declarations expected to face closer examination as the case moves forward./PN
