HEART Evangelista has been hospitalized after reportedly suffering from extreme exhaustion, according to her live-in assistant.
Evangelista’s longtime assistant, Resty Rosell, took to Instagram on Saturday, June 27, to share photos showing the actress in a hospital bed and connected to medical equipment while being attended to by medical staff. Her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, and sister Camille Ongpauco were also seen by her side.
Rosell said Evangelista had pushed herself to the point that she could no longer continue working before agreeing to be admitted to the hospital.
“Sa sobrang hardworking ng batang ito, kailangan talaga umabot pa siya sa point na hindi na niya kaya before magpa-confine,” she wrote.
The assistant also urged the actress to prioritize her health as she defended her against online criticism.
“Health is wealth, Ganda, sana naisip mo ‘yan, rest-rest din kapag may time,” expressed Rosell. “Tapos itong mga lintek na bashers na ‘to kung husgahan ka grabe, hindi nila alam kung gaano ka kasipag para kumita lang ng pera.”
In a separate post, Rosell shared that Evangelista had already awakened from sedation and was showing signs of improvement.
“Road to full recovery and she’s awake na from sedation… Nakakalakad na siya now ng straight pero need pa din ng support,” she wrote.
The assistant did not elaborate further on the actress’ medical condition.
The hospitalization comes weeks after Evangelista said she was prioritizing her well-being following a fainting episode that she experienced during the Milan Fashion Week.
The actress currently serves as the main host of GMA’s latest game show “The People Have Spoken,” which marks her first foray into hosting.
Meanwhile, as of writing, Evangelista hasn’t addressed her recent hospitalization. (Jessica Ann Evangelista© Philippine Daily Inquirer)
