BACOLOD City — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated approximately P4.593 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 15 drug suspects in a series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted from June 15 to 21.
BCPO records showed that police carried out 13 buy-bust operations during the week, resulting in the seizure of about 675.5 grams of suspected shabu.
The arrested suspects have been charged with violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Aside from its anti-drug campaign, the BCPO also intensified its drive against wanted persons, leading to the arrest of nine fugitives, including the city’s most wanted person and eight other individuals facing various criminal charges.
As part of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Katok campaign against loose firearms, six firearm owners voluntarily surrendered their weapons to authorities.
Police also conducted six anti-illegal gambling operations, which resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects for violations of Presidential Decree Nos. 1602 and 449. Authorities also confiscated P1,679 in bet money during the operations.
BCPO Director Col. Eugene Rebadomia commended the operating units for their sustained efforts in combating criminality and maintaining peace and order in the city.
Rebadomia also directed all police station commanders to intensify police visibility patrols to deter criminal activities and ensure public safety in their respective areas of responsibility./PN
