PUMP PRICES of petroleum products will be hiked anew this week, as retailers yesterday announced another round of increases following the reescalation of tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East.
According to the Department of Energy (DOE), the maximum permitted price adjustments for the week starting today, July 21, are as follows:
* gasoline: up to P3.65 per liter
* diesel: up to P10.68 per liter
* kerosene: up to P11.77 per liter
The actual adjustments will take effect today and will be largely dependent on retailers.
Oil industry sources earlier projected hikes for this week, citing the renewed tensions in the Middle East, which brought world oil prices even higher.
Last week, oil firms hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P1 per liter, diesel by P4.60 to P4.62 per liter, and kerosene by P4.20 per liter.
This brought year-to-date adjustments to a net increase of P46.27 per liter for gasoline, P39.75 per liter for diesel, and P36.62 per liter for kerosene as of July 14, 2026. (GMA News)
