ILOILO City — A total of 234 second-level police personnel across Western Visayas have moved up the ranks in one of the biggest promotion exercises of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), with Regional Director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño reminding them that their elevation comes with greater accountability and higher expectations in public service.
Tuaño led the simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks for the newly promoted personnel during ceremonies held recently at the PRO-6 Multi-Purpose Hall.
He commended the newly promoted personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in the service while reminding them that promotion is not merely a reward but a call to greater leadership and responsibility.
“Ang araw na ito ay bunga ng inyong pagsisikap, dedikasyon, at mga sakripisyong inyong ginawa sa serbisyo. Ngunit tandaan natin na ang promosyon ay hindi lamang pagkilala sa inyong mga nagawa — ito ay isang panibagong pananagutan,” Tuaño said.
Of the total number promoted, 156 personnel from the PRO-6 Regional Headquarters, Police Provincial Offices, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and National Support Units attended the ceremony in person, while 78 personnel from the Aklan, Antique, and Capiz Police Provincial Offices joined virtually from their respective headquarters.
“Habang tumataas ang inyong ranggo, mas tumataas din ang inaasahan sa inyong pamumuno, pagpapasya, at pagiging huwaran sa iba,” said Tuaño.
At the ICPO, 32 police personnel received promotions. These included six promoted to Police Major, four to Police Captain, four to Police Lieutenant, and 18 advancing from Police Corporal to Police Master Sergeant (PMSg).
Five female police officers were among those elevated to the ranks of Police Captain and Police Major.
Meanwhile, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recorded 57 promotions, consisting of 15 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 42 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs).
“Sa panahon ngayon, ang ating komunidad ay nangangailangan ng mga pulis na hindi lamang mahusay sa operasyon, kundi mga pulis na marunong makinig, umunawa, at magbigay ng serbisyong tunay na nararamdaman ng mamamayan,” Tuaño said./PN
