BACOLOD City – Police have launched a manhunt for the still unidentified gunmen who shot and killed an Indian national in Barangay Villamonte here on Tuesday night, August 4.

The victim, identified only by the alias “Singh,” was of legal age and had been residing in Bacolod City for about five months, according to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Initial police reports said authorities received a call from a concerned citizen at about 9 p.m. reporting a shooting incident in Purok Bayanihan.

Personnel of Police Station 4 immediately responded to the area and found the victim lying lifeless beside his motorcycle. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Police have yet to establish the motive behind the killing, while the identities of the assailants remain unknown.

Authorities have launched hot pursuit and dragnet operations to track down the perpetrators.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) processed the crime scene and collected forensic evidence to aid the investigation.

Police said the investigation is ongoing./PN
