BACOLOD City — The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) arrested two alleged fixers involved in the issuance and printing of fake driver’s licenses during an entrapment operation in Bacolod City on August 14, 2026.
The operation was conducted at a stall inside the Doña Manuela Building along San Juan Street in Barangay 12 following prolonged monitoring of the establishment over alleged fraudulent licensing activities.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of LTO-NIR Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu and Assistant Regional Director Monico A. Puentevella Jr.
The agency said the operation formed part of its intensified campaign against illegal activities that compromise the integrity of the driver’s licensing system and potentially put motorists and other road users at risk.
Conlu urged the public to transact only through authorized LTO offices and official channels and to avoid individuals offering fake driver’s licenses or unauthorized assistance in exchange for payment.
The LTO-NIR stressed that there are no shortcuts to obtaining a legitimate driver’s license and reminded applicants to comply with the proper legal procedures and requirements to ensure that only qualified and responsible individuals are allowed to drive.
