ILOILO – Two people sustained minor injuries after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a motorcycle collided in front of the Sara night market area in Barangay Apologista, Sara at around 11:43 a.m. yesterday.
Police identified the victims as motorcycle driver alias “Rolan,” a resident of the town’s Barangay Zerrudo, and his backrider, 33-year-old alias “Lel” of Barangay Dugman, San Dionisio town. Both suffered scratches on their legs and knees.
Investigation revealed that a Toyota Avanza driven by 65-year-old alias “Philip,” a resident of Barangay Casanayan, Pilar, Capiz, was making a U-turn when it collided with the incoming Bajaj motorcycle, which was traveling from the town proper toward the Sara Public Market.
Police said Philip and his four passengers were unharmed, but the impact caused minor scratches to the motorcycle’s fairing and dented the front-left bumper of the SUV.
Police reported that both parties have since agreed to a mutual settlement./PN
