Over P1M worth of ‘shabu’ seized from high-value suspect

ILOILO City — Police arrested a high-value suspect who yielded approximately P1,394,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation on Sunday, September 13, in Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz district.

Joint operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6), Regional Intelligence Division 6 (RID 6), PDEG Special Operations Unit 6, and Iloilo City Police Station 8 (ICPS 8) caught alias “Jan2,” 44, single, a jobless resident of Jaro district, at around 1:46 p.m.

Police found in his possession 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and three knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing around 205 grams. Also seized were buy-bust and proceeds money, a motorcycle, and non-drug-related items.

The suspect is currently in police custody and faces charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño lauded the operating units for their relentless surveillance and coordination.
