BACOLOD City – A person was killed while one was reported missing after they swam on Saturday afternoon at Obong Cave, Barangay Pook, Hinobaan town.
A certain Selvis was declared dead on arrival, Hinobaan mayor Enresto Estrao disclosed yesterday.
He added that a certain Castro was still missing while their companion, a certain Caballero, was rescued and is now recuperating in the hospital.
Estrao said the three went to Obong Cave and swam in the area around 3:30 p.m.
However, Castro did not expect that the water was deep.
Seeing that Castro needed help, Selvis jumped to the water to rescue him. Caballero also jumped to help his friends.
A fisherman saw the three and was able to rescue Selvis and Caballero.
The names of the victim are still being verified by the Hinobaan police as of press time./PN
