BACOLOD City – More Negros Occidental officials want to join the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
“Many more called me to say they want to submit their application to join,” said Yves Akol, the ruling party’s secretary-general for Negros Island Region.
This means more will be sworn in as new members. “Yes, there will be another batch (of oath-takers),” he said.
Akol said they have yet to finalize the date of the next mass oath-taking.
He refused to disclose the names of the would-be PDP-Laban members or their number but said they will come from the opposing local parties United Negros Alliance and Love Negros.
On Sept. 30, a total of 218 officials from Negros Occidental and this capital city were sworn in as new members of the ruling party.
Among them were Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Bacolod City mayor Evelio Leonardia./PN
