ILOILO City – A barangay councilman was arrested in Barangay Poblacion Sur, Sigma, Capiz for playing tumbo or cara y cruz.
On Oct. 25, Tomas Lavapi was detained at the Sigma police station. Policemen caught him around 9:20 p.m.
Police said Lavapi had six other companions playing tumbo but they managed to run away.
Lavapi yielded P437 cash.
Tumbo involves three coins of the same kind being tossed up in the air while the bettors hope luck are on their side; that once settled on the ground, all the three coins would show up as either “hari” or “corona” (king or crown)./PN
