ILOILO City – A police officer was busted for shabu in Barangay Cabariwan, Laua-an, Antique.
Police Officer 2 Joven Francis Millares, 38, of Barangay Madranca, San Jose, Antique yielded six sachets of shabu yesterday.
Assigned at the police station of Culasi town, Millares was detained at the Laua-an police station. Around 5:45 a.m. he sold two sachets of shabu to a buyer that turned out to be an undercover police officer.
Four more sachets were recovered from Millares.
The suspect was placed under surveillance for some three months prior to the buy-bust operation, said Police Officer 1 Elmer Esmilla of the Laua-an police.
Millares had been marked AWOL (absent without official leave) by the Police Regional Office since 2014.
He had not been reporting at the Culasi police station, said Police Officer 3 Celino Javier of Culasi.
Chief Superintendent Jose Gentiles, regional police director, said Millares will be prosecuted.
“Wala tayong pinipili basta illegal drugs, kahit pulis ka man,” he said./PN
