MANILA – Alyssa Valdez of the Bureau of Customs Transformers was named the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference Most Valuable Player during the awarding rites on Monday night at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
This marks the third MVP trophy of the San Juan, Batangas-native Valdez in the league after also clinching the feat during Season 12 Open Conference while playing for PLDT and the Season 12 Collegiate Conference with the Ateneo Lady Eagles.
Valdez also became the first player to win three Shakey’s MVP trophies, surpassing Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Mary Jean Balse, Suzanne Roces, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Lithawat Kesinee, and Jaroensri Bualee, who have two each.
Aside from the Conference MVP trophy Valdez was also named as the Best Outside Spiker. Her teammate Lilet Mabbayad, meanwhile, was adjudged as the 2nd Best Middle Blocker.
Meanwhile, Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors’ Michelle Gumabao, Breanna Mackie and Iris Tolenada were named as the Best Opposite Spiker, Best Foreign Guest Player and Best Setter, respectively.
University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses’ Ennajie Laure and Marivic Meneses took home the 2nd Best Outside Spiker and 1st Best Middle Blocker, while Dennise Lazaro of the Bali Pure Water Defenders was the Best Libero./PN
