BACOLOD City – The 11th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival is seen to surpass the P4.2-million earnings of the 2015 edition.
It has generated a total of P4.1 million as of Thursday, Nov. 17, according to the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Sales reached P662,867.50 on the first day, Nov. 15; P550,598 on the second day; and P2,930,558 on the third day.
The purchase of a utility tractor, a rice reaper, a cultivator, and health products from Izumio hydrogenated drinking water — amounting to a total of P2.5 million — contributed to most of the earnings, capitol said.
Adding to the bulk of sales were fresh and processed organic products.
Aside from providing organic farmer-producers sales opportunities, the festival also aims to expose their products to a wider market.
The 11th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival, themed “Getting Connected through Regenerative Organic Agriculture,” ends today.
From the Negros First CyberCentre, the venue will be moved to the capitol ground to cater to more booths and stalls.
