MANILA – De La Salle University Green Archers’ Cameroonian import Benoit Mbala is set to clinch his UAAP MVP trophy after topping the statistical race at the end of the Season 79 double-round eliminations.
Based on the data from Imperium Technology, Mbala became the runaway winner with his 92.43 statistical points (SPs) on 20.62 points, 16 rebounds, 1.21 assists, 1.36 steals and 2.36 blocks averages.
Cameroonian import Papi Sarr of the Adamson University Falcons came at a distant second with 69.86 SPs on 14.36 points, 14.93 rebounds, 1.07 assists, 0.71 steals and 1 blocks averages.
Rounding up the top five are Green Archers guard Jeron Teng (57.33 SPs), University of the Philippines Maroons’ Andres Desiderio (55.14 SPs) and Far Eastern University Tamaraws’ Raymar Jose (53.64 SPs).
Meanwhile, Falcons Filipino-American guard Jerrick Ahanmisi clinched the Rookie of the Year plum with his 44.5 SPs. Coming in at second place is Green Archers rookie guard Aljun Melecio.
In the women’s division, NU Lady Bulldogs’ Afril Bernardino bagged her third consecutive MVP trophy at 91.86 SPs./PN
