ILOILO City – A man was killed and another was injured when a pickup vehicle crashed into a tricycle in Barangay Igtambo, San Miguel, Iloilo.
David Caoyonan died of head and body injuries. His uncle Alex, on the other hand, was hurt and confined in Aleosan District Hospital.
Both were preparing to take their goods to the public market when the incident happened around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, said Inspector Francis Albert Fortunado, San Miguel police chief.
Hospital nurse John Daryl Lagumbayan, 31, of Barangay Talacuan, Leon town was driving the Mitsubishi Strada.
Lagumbayan was drunk. He came from a Christmas party in Iloilo City, police investigation showed.
The pickup driver was detained in the San Miguel police station lockup cell.
He was facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, frustrated homicide and damage to property./PN
