ILOILO City – In Barangay Bongol San Miguel, Guimbal, Iloilo a man was caught soliciting bets for an illegal numbers game.
The 31-year-old Ryan Tolojosa was a resident of Barangay Boclod, Igbaras, Iloilo. Police arrested him around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 13.
The police recovered from Tolojosa three sheets of paper with different number combinations, two cellular phones and P300 cash.
Tolojosa faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 9287 (an Act increasing the penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1602, and for other purposes).
If found guilty by the court for being a collector or agent (cabo, cobrador, coriador or variants thereof), the suspect faces the penalty of imprisonment from eight years and one day to 10 years./PN
