BACOLOD City – A 10-year-old boy died after he was mauled by his father in Cadiz City.
Rommel Baloran of Hacienda Sta. Barbara in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City said he did not intend to kill his son.
The victim, whose identity was withheld by the police, allegedly stole from a store in the barangay.
Baloran said he was not able to control himself after learning about his son’s stealing.
Investigation showed that on Friday, Baloran punched his son twice. The victim vomited blood and was rushed to Cadiz District Hospital.
The boy died on Saturday morning.
Baloran said he wanted to escape to Iloilo after learning about his son’s death but his relatives told him to surrender. He voluntarily surrendered to the Cadiz City Police Station Women and Children’s Desk on Sunday.
The suspect may face parricide charges in court, police said./PN
