ILOILO City – At the public plaza of Leon, Iloilo strolling residents found a homemade .38 revolver with three ammunitions.
Responding police officers secured the gun around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 20.
The owner probably feared getting caught so he abandoned the gun, police said.
Three days before this, a homemade 12-gauge shotgun was found outside the Catholic church of nearby Maasin town.
Around 5:30 a.m. of Dec. 17 a churchgoer spotted the gun at a time when the traditional misa de gallo (dawn mass) was ongoing inside the church.
According to Police Officer 2 Andres Perez, the owner likely left the gun after seeing lots of policemen around the church./PN
