BACOLOD City – One person died while two were injured in a road mishap around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Sitio Wawa, Barangay Minoyan, Murcia town.
Benjie Baricuatro, 26, a resident of the barangay, sustained head and body injuries. He was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead around 2:45 p.m. on the same day.
Injured were Ricky Ogsinar, 20, and Mary Grace Arañas, 18, both from Barangay Minoyan in the town.
The police said the victims were on their way home after swimming at the river.
Investigation showed that their motorcycle fell to the canal after avoiding a cargo truck from the opposite direction.
The Murcia police withheld the identity of the cargo truck driver./PN
