ROXAS City – Social service and infrastructure projects are included in the 2017 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) of the Capiz provincial government.
More than P5 billion will be used for the projects and activities under the Provincial Development Council-approved AIP.
Of the total amount, some P1.8 billion will be sourced from local funds and some P3.5 billion from external sources.
Economic services like livelihood; infrastructure programs like road concreting and bridge construction; tourism projects; food security programs; and veterinary services got P3.6 billion, the Capiz Aksyon News Center said.
Social service projects were apportioned P785 million.
Social services cover aid to individuals in crisis situations; rehabilitation/facility upgrade of public hospitals; rehabilitation of the Villareal Stadium; and scholarships, school development and population management, among others.
Meanwhile P442 million was allocated for general public services, including disaster risk reduction and management, rehabilitation of the detention facility and gender sensitivity training.
The national bypass/diversion road from Barangay Bula to Barangay Atiplo in Mambusao town, the construction of a graduate school building for the University of the Philippines and the rehabilitation of the Panay River were also included in the AIP.
Some P20 million was allotted for terminal leave benefits and P473,000 for aid for barangays. (PNA)
