BACOLOD City – The man tagged in the shooting of a police officer in Cebu City last Dec. 24, 2016 surrendered to the police in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental recently.
The 22-year-old Jaime Jason of Cebu City turned himself in to the office of Superintendent D’Artagnan Katalbas Jr., Guihulngan City police director.
According to Katalbas, Jason owned up to the crime. Senior Inspector Alex Nuñez of the Cebu City police force died.
Nuñez was on his way home when he spotted two groups of men in a rumble. He tried to stop them.
One of the men moved to shoot Nuñez but the cop was faster and wounded the man.
The wounded man turned out to be a brother of Jason.
When the suspect saw his brother was hit, he grabbed Nuñez’s gun and shot the cop dead./PN
