BACOLOD City – A man was killed while two others were wounded in separate shootings perpetrated by suspects riding in tandem in a motorcycle yesterday.
Police have yet to establish as of this writing if the suspects in the shootings in Helvetia Heights Subdivision on Burgos Street Extension and Villa Felicidad — all in Barangay Villamonte — were the same.
The 24-year-old Harold Mira was killed in the Helvetia Heights shooting around 8 a.m.
Mira, a resident of Barangay 27, was running fast to catch a jeepney ride while two people on board a motorcycle were behind him, the jeepney’s driver Junjun Belarmia said in a radio interview.
When Mira was already in the jeepney, the suspects fired at him several times, Belarmia said.
Around 7:45 a.m., Ricky Billiones of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental and Roy del Rosario of Barangay Estefania were wounded in the shooting in the nearby Villa Felicidad.
They were taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, said Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, Police Station 4 commander.
Police were still trying to identify the suspects. Empty shells at the crime scene will be subjected to ballistic examination, Bonilla said./PN
