BACOLOD City – A farmer was shot to death yesterday in Barangay San Benito, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Wenceslao Pacquiao, 48, was working on his farm when attacked, said Chief Inspector Joel Batusbatusan, municipal police chief.

A still unidentified suspect, clad in a white jacket and a helmet, peppered the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas member with bullets using a .45 pistol, said witness Rubico Pabuaya, another farmers’ group member.

Pacquiao had four gunshot wounds on the head and body. The suspect escaped.

While investigation continues, police said land conflict had something to do with the shooting./PN
