GUIMARAS – A series of burglaries in the old public market of Buenavista town has alarmed the Guimaras Police Provincial Office.
It is deploying more policemen to the market, said Senior Superintendent Louis Garong, provincial police director.
He also directed the Buenavista police station to conduct an investigation, identify and arrest the culprits.
Since the start of 2017, six burglaries were already recorded by the police.
Garong said police visibility in Buenavista must be enhanced to discourage lawless elements from striking, particularly the burglars.
He also ordered the Buenavista police to remind market vendors to secure their establishments.
Recordings of security cameras at the public market could help solve the burglaries, Garong added.
Buenavista has a new public market in Barangay Mclain and some vendors from the old market have already transferred there.
