ILOILO City – A man with a previous conviction for drug trafficking was found dead under the Drilon Bridge in Barangay Rizal, La Paz district.
Roweno Argamaso, 55, had a gunshot wound on the head. Passerby Reven Togonon spotted the body around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Responding policemen brought Argamaso to St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo. X-ray showed the bullet still embedded in his head.
As of this writing, the police did not have suspects.
“We’re still unsure if the victim was shot in the area or killed elsewhere and merely dumped under the bridge,” said Senior Police Officer 1 Alain Silda, La Paz police station investigator.
No empty bullet shells were recovered from the area where Argamaso was found.
The victim was often seen fishing on the bridge.
Argamaso returned to Iloilo City from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila just this October 2016 after completing his sentence for pushing illegal drugs.
His wife is reportedly currently detained at the Bureau of Jail and Penology for drug pushing.
“We are coordinating with the victim’s family and relatives to get more information,” said Silda./PN
