ILOILO City – Six persons were arrested for illegally quarrying in Barangay Nasapahan, Lemery, Iloilo.
They were identified by the police as:
* Dante Dorilag, 62, of Barangay Poblacion, Santa Barbara
* Ildefonso Larada, 51, of Barangay Bay-ang, Ajuy
* Ronnie Espinosa of Barangay Agbobolo, Ajuy
* Bembot Palma of Barangay Nasapahan, Lemery
* Risty Herida of Badiangan, Iloilo; and
* Exekiel Celedonio of Barangay Bacjawan Sur, Concepcion.
The suspects did not have a permit from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, police said.
The police recovered from the suspects a spade, 10 empty sacks and a water container.
The men were taken to the Lemery police station around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday./PN
