BACOLOD City – A nationwide “unification rally” was held at the Bacolod City Government Center on Sunday.
The two-hour rally, organized by Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte – National Executive Coordinating Council – Negros Island Region (MRRD-NECC-NIR), intended to show support to the Duterte administration and appeal for the retention of Negros Island Region.
Bacolod City mayor Evelio Leonardia stressed that his administration fully supports Duterte and the retention of the island region. “I think it is clear that the President has the mandate and that he will stay for six years,” said the mayor.
The people should give Duterte a chance to finish his plans for the country, Leonardia said.
Undersecretary Jesus “JV” Hinlo Jr. of the Department of the Interior and Local Government thanked all the officials who attended. He said their supporters should rally behind Duterte in his war against drugs and corruption.
