ILOILO City – The Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC), Bo. Obrero Campus is now accepting enrollees for its seven technical-vocational (tech-voc) courses, with no tuition fee.
“We are giving every Ilonggo the opportunity to undergo skills training free of charge through the tech-voc courses being offered by TIIC,” said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
The enrollment started on March 1 and will end on March 31.
The training period is from April to June.
The seven courses being offered are:
* Beauty Care NC II
* Computer System Servicing NC II
* Computer Literacy
* Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II
* Cookery NC II
* Dressmaking NC II, and
* Food and Beverage Services NC II.
High school or college graduates are allowed to enroll at TIIC.
Carlito Jusa, school administrator of TIIC Bo. Obrero Campus, said the courses offered by TIIC will enable residents of Iloilo City to look for jobs which require skills.
“Both government and private establishments need more technical vocational graduates two to three years from now, so this is really good for Iloilo City residents,” said Jusa.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will provide National Certificate (NC II) provided that the enrollees pass the assessment test, he added. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
