A dark day for terrorists, otherwise a lovely day

AND ALL the “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, trendy social-climbing “woke” millennials, pseudo communists, so-called activists, unemployed artista ng bayan including “beauty queens” and the rest of the gullible fools comprising the three percent that rabidly hate President Rodrigo Duterte woke up the morning after that he is still the President of the Republic and he has signed into law Republic Act No. 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

Excerpts from the July 4, 2020 issue of Panay News:

Duterte signs anti-terror bill into law

President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law the controversial Anti-Terrorism Bill amid fears that the measure could be used to silence government critics.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed late Friday afternoon Duterte’s signing.

The new law will take effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.

Upon hearing and receiving confirmation that the dreaded (to them) Anti-Terrorism Bill was finally signed into law, there were unconfirmed reports of uncontrolled weeping, hair-pulling and temper tantrums among the noisy minority that make up the rabid Duterte haters, followed by the usual announcements of indignation rallies and protests.

Meanwhile, the rest of the nation felt a sense of relief and jubilation that finally the Anti-Terrorism Bill was signed into law, giving the government the much needed tool to eradicate the more than 50 years of communist insurgency and protect us from the surge of extreme Islamic terrorism.

When the ISIS terrorists attacked Marawi City down in Mindanao, the usual suspects – I.e. Frappuccino-infused “woke” millennials, pseudo communists and opposition politicians – were up in arms after martial law was declared in that area. They appeared more terrified of the imaginary bogeyman of martial law than your actual bloodthirsty ISIS terrorists, or perhaps they just don’t like President Duterte to the point that “his enemy is my friend”, nevermind if they are enemies of the republic.

Now these usual suspects are again up in arms against the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 parroting the usual nonsense feed to them by their handlers. One of the issues they have is that this law allows warrantless arrest. But Section 5, Rule 113 of the current Rules of Court provides:

Sec 5.  Arrest without warrant, when lawful – A peace officer or a private person may, without a warrant, arrest a person:

(a) When, in his presence, the person to be arrested has committed, is actually committing or is attempting to commit an offense;

(b) When an offense has just been committed and he has probable cause to believe based on personal knowledge of facts or circumstances that the person to be arrested has committed it;  and

(c) When the person to be arrested is a prisoner who has escaped from a penal establishment or place where he is serving final judgment or is temporarily confined while his case is pending, or has escaped while being transferred from one confinement to another.

Take note that this has been in effect since 2000 but I guess they didn’t bother to look it up.

I have a very strong suspicion that Section 10 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 is the one that most if not all of these noisy leftists groups and party-list representatives are afraid of:

Section 10 of RA 11479 (Recruitment to and Membership in a Terrorist Organization) – Any person who shall recruit another to participate in, join, commit or support terrorism or a terrorist individual or any terrorist organization, association or group of persons proscribed under Section 26 of this Act, or designated by the United Nations Security Council as a terrorist organization, or organized for the purpose of engaging in terrorism, shall suffer the penalty of life imprisonment without the benefit of parole and the benefits of Republic Act No. 10592.

This particular section when implemented effectively cuts off the support, propaganda and recruitment base of the New People’s Army. As an army, the NPA is a joke but very effective in terms of propaganda and fund/support generating, particularly using foreign nongovernment organizations, schools/universities and Congress through the party-lists system, and using their front organizations (i.e. Bayan, Gabriela, Kadamay, Anakpawis, Akbayan, Alliance of Concerned Teachers), etc. They also use these front organizations to recruit naïve, gullible students from schools and universities as cadres for the NPA.

And please don’t show your ignorance by parroting that stupid line “the Anti-Terrorism Law kills our freedom of expression”.

Section 4(e) of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020: Provided that terrorism, as defined by this Section, SHALL NOT INCLUDE advocacy, protest, dissent, stoppage of work, industrial or mass action, and other similar exercises of civil and political rights, which are not intended to cause death or serious physical harm to a person, to endanger a person’s life, or to create a serious risk to public safety.”

Of course activism is not terrorism. Who is that idiot who said it is? Let me rephrase…the idiot saying that activism is terrorism is also the same one shouting it is not. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
