ILOILO City – He was listed as the No. 1 most wanted person in the police station of Roxas City, Capiz.
The 33-year-old John Michael Aranza who had been hiding from the police for about 16 years was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.
Aranza – resident of Barangay Baybay, Roxas City – faces a murder charge, the report added.
The suspect allegedly stabbed to death Henry Bernada in 2003.
Aranza was arrested in Barangay Bancal Carles, Iloilo after a concerned citizen reported him to the police.
Judge Eduard Contreras of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 in Roxas City issued the warrant against the suspect.
He was detained in the Roxas City police station’s lockup facility./PN
