ROXAS City – Some 20 houses were totally razed by fire in Barangay Culasi here on Tuesday afternoon.
Initial investigation showed the fire breaking out past 2 p.m.
A fire-out was declared around 3:18 p.m.
The houses were a mix of light materials, the reason why the fire quickly spread.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-Roxas City raised the fire alarm up to the third level. Fire trucks from neighboring (Panitan, Panay, Sigma, and Pontevedra) towns responded.
Fire volunteers also helped.
As of this writing, there were no reported casualties.
The Bureau of Fire Protection has launched an investigation to determine the origin or cause of the fire.
On the other hand, the Roxas city government immediately sent out relief food packs to the affected families.
The provincial government of Capiz, on other hand, vowed to help the fire victims./PN
