KALIBO, Aklan β The provincial government of Aklan has so far administered nearly 18,000 first doses of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for Priority Group A (workers in frontline health services), according to the Department of Health (DOH).
A total of 82,021 individuals were registered under the Priority Group As. They included frontline workers in health facilities both national and local, private and public, health professionals, and barangay health workers.
So far, 11,386 or 13.83 percent in Priority Group A were inoculated with their first dose of Sinovac vaccines, while 6,643 or 8.10 percent got their first dose of AstraZeneca vaccines, the Regional Vaccination Operation Center reported (as of June 5).
Overall, 17,989 or 21.93 percent in Priority Group A received their first doses of AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccines.
Only 8,094 or 9.87 percent in Priority Group A were inoculated with their second dose of Sinovac as of June 5.
The province also consumed 98.32 percent or 17,989 first doses of 18,296 allocated Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines, while 66.37 percent or 8,094 second doses of Sinovac out of 12,196 allocated Sinovac were also administered.
Among healthcare workers and frontliners, 59.32 percent completed their shots, while 80.33 percent or 9,887 out 12,308 got their first doses.
Some 792 senior citizens or 1.41 percent are now fully vaccinated, while 14.40 percent or 8,101 out 56,264 elderly got their first dose of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines./PN
