Aklan PNP: Allegations against Malay police chief untrue

BORACAY – Aklan police director Col. Crisaleo Tolentino is unfazed by the allegations made by a “Boracay Concerned Citizen” tagging the name of Malay police chief Lt. Col. Don Dicksie De Dios.

Tolentino maintained the allegations in the ‘poison letter’ were untrue as validated by the Police Regional Office-6.

“It is convincing, De Dios allegations are not true. The accusations in the letter are not true,” he said.

Tolentino also dismissed the ‘wild allegations’ that De Dios was asking favors from businessmen in Boracay Island for his benefits.

“La Carmela de Boracay

“The hotel had a good deal with De Dios, according to La Carmela de Boracay. It is also not true and impossible for him to encash the rice subsidy of LGU Malay for our police,” he stressed in a radio interview of Todo Radyo Aklan 88.5 FM.

The police official also denied the Malay municipal police station is receiving a 60 percent share of the P2,500 fine for curfew violators on the island.

The letter was sent to PRO-6 regional director Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo last November 2021 also alleged De Dios stayed in a beachfront hotel for several months for free.

“The stakeholders who spoke to the validating team are all praises to De Dios. The letter is not supported by the actual observations of our validating team,” Tolentino pointed out.

Tolentino also challenged the anonymous complainant to come into the open to determine whether there was culpability on the part of police officers or the flaws in their operations.

“We do not tolerate such activities in Philippine National Police,” he said./PN
