AKLAN – The Dr. Rafael S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital (DRSTMH), also known as the Aklan Provincial Hospital, has officially been accredited by PhilHealth for the expanded GAMOT Program and the enhanced YAKAP (Yamang Kalusugan Pampamilya) Program, opening wider access to free medicines and laboratory services for Aklanon residents.
According to Bien Paul Obordo, Chief Social Insurance Officer of PhilHealth-Aklan, PhilHealth members and their dependents may now avail themselves of free consultations, check-ups, laboratory tests, and medicines at DRSTMH.
From the previous list of 21 medicines, the GAMOT Program now covers 75 essential and supportive drugs, including treatments for hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and common illnesses. Beneficiaries are entitled to an annual benefit limit of P20,000 each.
The enhanced YAKAP Program also provides a more comprehensive set of laboratory procedures, such as cancer screening, breast cancer screening, x-ray, lipid profile, blood sugar testing, and urinalysis.
Prescriptions must be issued by physicians from accredited facilities using the PhilHealth GAMOT App. Patients may claim their medicines for free at the Aklan Provincial Hospital by presenting their Digital Reseta.
