AKLAN — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Aklan has approved the P3.275-billion annual budget of the provincial government for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 during its final regular session before the year’s end.
The approved budget amounts to P3,275,530,144 and is anchored on the theme, “Strengthened Health Care, Social Protection, Food Security, Sustainable Development and Disaster Resilience for One Aklan.” Provincial officials said the spending plan aligns with the province’s long-term development agenda and annual goals.
Under the 2026 budget, 72 percent or P2.370 billion is allocated to the Regular Fund, while 28 percent or P905 million is earmarked for the operation of the province’s Economic Enterprise.
Sectoral allocation shows that 44 percent of the budget is devoted to Social Services, covering health care, social protection, and indigency programs. Economic Services will receive 26 percent to support agriculture, local industries, and other economic initiatives, while 30 percent is set aside for General Public Services.
Provincial officials said the budget ensures the continued implementation of existing economic activities, health programs, and support for local industries, while maintaining assistance for vulnerable sectors.
The signing of the approved budget was led by Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores and Vice Governor Dexter M. Calizo, together with all members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan.
