KALIBO, Aklan – The Provincial Health Office in Aklan (PHO-Aklan) is sending a total of 32 specimens to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City as part of the national government’s mass testing program.
PHO-Aklan Dr. Cornelio Cuachon Jr. said that the specimens will come from the six confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in this province, five doctors, 17 persons under investigation (PUI), and four coming from the nearby town of Pandan, Antique.
“We are hoping that the six confirmed COVID-positive patients will yield negative results,” Cuachon added.
As of April 12, there has been no new confirmed COVID-19 case in this province.
Meanwhile, Cuachon said that there are now 12 out of 17 towns in Aklan that have zero persons under monitoring (PUMs).
They are the following: Lezo, New Washington, Banga, Batan, Buruanga, Libacao, Tangalan, Numancia, Madalag, Malay, Nabas, and Malinao.
