MANILA – San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas vented its ire on Saigon Heat, 99-79, to get back on the winning track of the 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League at the Sta. Rosa Multi Purpose Sports Complex in Laguna on Feb. 23.

World reinforcements Nick King and Samuel Deguara took turns on the offensive end for Alab. The former tallied 20 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists while the latter added 23 points and eight rebounds for the team to now place second in the standings.

The Philippine representatives posted the victory despite the absence of the third import, Justin Brownlee, who failed to make it to his flight in time for the match.

Holding to a slim 25-17 after the opening quarter, the Alab leaned on a huge 31-point outburst in the second quarter to establish a 56-36 halftime edge, and it ballooned to as high as 24 points later in the match.

Lawrence Domingo finished with 18 points on 8-of-10 field goals along with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Jason Brickman contributed 10 points and nine assists.

Sam Thompson scored a game-high 36 points while hauling down 10 boards, while Dang Khoa Tran and Malcolm White had 18 and 13 points, respectively, for the defeated Saigon./PN
