A foreign diplomatic mission seeks a seasoned individual for the position of American Citizen Services (ACS) Assistant in their Cebu Office.
JOB OVERVIEW: Reviews applications for passport services and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), applications for completed and correct forms and necessary requirements; and provides adequate documentation to support issuance. Examines documents submitted by applicants for authenticity and alerts the Consular Agent to fraud considerations involved in the cases, and other American Citizens Services duties as required. Assist the Consular Agent in providing emergency services to U.S. citizens to include deaths, arrests, victims of crimes, and general welfare checks.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: College or university studies is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Three years of progressively responsible experience in work involving the application of relatively complex regulation/policy/law with extensive public contact, or other related experience.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:
English – Fluent (speaking, reading, writing, and may include the ability to translate).
Filipino – Fluent (speaking, reading, writing, and may include the ability to translate).
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledgeable about office management procedures. Solid understanding of types and purposes of civil documentations related to laws and regulations in support of applications about birth, passport applications, death, and immigration.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Must possess good organizational skills, including task management and filing skills.
* Must have excellent communication skills including writing skills appropriate for drafting official correspondence and reports.
* Must have tact and good judgment while dealing with the public, often under difficult and sensitive circumstances.
* Must have the acuity to evaluate evidence and apply complex regulations correctly.
* Good interpersonal skills.
